Margaret Mary Dickey
Margaret Mary Miller Dickey, 77, a woman of divine substance and elegance, died Sunday evening peacefully at her home with her sons and loved ones at her side in San Francisco, Calif., where she had lived for the past six years. She was formerly of Iroquois Drive, Butler.
Born May 24, 1931, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Roger E. and Thelma D. (Pettit) Miller.
She was a homemaker and mother, worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for Pennsylvania for five years and trained as a career guidance counselor in the Air Force in 1950, where she was a proud veteran. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology from LaRoche College and her master's degree in education and counseling from the University of Pittsburgh.
She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and was a proud and active member of the Democratic National Party until her death.
Margaret loved animals, spending time with little children, learning, was a voracious reader for the pursuit of higher learning and collected historical documents and books.
Surviving are five sons, Peter E. Dickey and his wife, Marty, of Houston, Texas, Joseph M. Dickey and his wife, Elenore, of Butler, Christopher J. Dickey of Houston, Matthew S. Dickey of San Francisco and James O. Dickey, and his wife, Tamara, of San Francisco; two sisters, Beverly Seybert of Butler and Carol Philips of Michigan; and three grandchildren, Anne Catherine Dickey, Britton P. Dickey and Jennifer Dickey. She was expecting a grandson, Hudson Matthew Dickey, in April in San Francisco.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. "Tink" Dickey, who she married Oct. 15, 1955. He died Oct. 5, 1982.

Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
