Richard E. Deal
Richard E. "Dick" Deal, 62, formerly of Butler, died Monday at his home in Warren, Ohio.
Born Dec. 31, 1941, in Butler, he was a son of the late George S. and Violet Mae Thompson Deal.
He was raised in Butler and attended Butler area schools.
Mr. Deal worked for Heckett Engineering at many job sites throughout the United States and retired after 41 years as maintenance supervisor.
He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and a member of the VFW Post 4192 in Mineral Ridge, Ohio.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and National Football League fan.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn E. Amburgey Deal, whom he married April 18, 1991; two sons, Richard E. Deal Jr., of Bryan, Texas, and Joseph V. Deal of Seguin, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. David (Kimberly) Merryweather of Waco, Texas; two brothers, George S. and Vernon "Jerry" Deal, both of Butler; and three sisters, former Butler resident Mrs. Peggy Reed of Harmony, Mrs. John (Patricia) Hoover of West Sunbury and Mrs. Albert (Shirley) Shook of Butler. Also surviving are six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, three brothers and a sister.
DEAL - Friends of Richard E. "Dick" Deal, who died Monday, April 12, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday atGEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Barry French, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Niles, Ohio, officiating.
