Santino Sloboda, 8, of Butler took seventh place in the Midget 9-under 54-pound weight class in the Middle Atlantic Wrestling Association (MAWA) Eastern National Wrestling Championships last weekend.

The event was held in Salisbury, Md.

Butler’s U-13 boys posted wins over Freeport and Upper St. Clair recently.

In the 13-3 win over Freeport, Brody Allison scored three goals and had an assist, Julian Jones had two goals and an assist, Dalton Podobensky and Donovan McKivigan two goals each, Dawson Pfabe, Justin Bailey and Landon Dubyak one goal each.

In the 10-7 win over Upper St. Clair, Allison scored five goals, Jones three goals and an assist, Bailey two goals and an assist.

Butler’s U-11 team posted three wins as well. Lawson Neigh scored three goals, Ayden Davis and Landon Dubyak two each in an 11-1 win over Penn Trafford. Casey Miller, Killian Misitis, Grant Terwilliger and Colin Whorf all scored once.

Davis scored three goals and Max Spohn two in a 9-2 win over Moon. Nolan Yarrington, Paige Rodgers, Stephen Ellis and Brett Becker all scored once. Jackson McCaffrey had two assists.

Davis scored three goals in a 7-3 win over Freeport. Neigh, Miller, Whorf and Becker all scored once.

In an 8-6 loss to Upper St. Clair, Davis scored three goals, Emmet McClaine two and Whorf one.
