Transit authority OKs several contracts
The Butler Transit Authority approved a number of transactions Tuesday including contracts for transportation for people with disabilities and lobbying in Harrisburg, and purchasing a garage floor scrubber and a copier.
Authority board members unanimously voted to award a three-year contract for transportation for people with disabilities to ANR Transport, a division of the Alliance for Nonprofit Resources of Butler, the current provider.
The authority will pay ANR $35.42 per trip in the first year of the contract, $36.48 in the second year and $37.58 in the third year. There is no cost increase in the first year. The second and third years include 3% increases.
ANR was the only company that bid on the contract, said John Paul, authority executive director.
The current contract with ANR expires June 30.
The board approved a three-year contract with Malady and Wooten LLC of Harrisburg, the authority's current contractor, for lobbying lawmakers in the state capitol. The $24,000 a year cost is the same as the current cost.
The purchase of a floor scrubber for $24,129 for cleaning the bus garage was approved to replace the current 11-year-old scrubber that is in need of repairs, officials said.
The authority approved buying a copier from Boory's Business Machines of Butler for $8,699 instead of leasing the copier for three years for $9,681.
In addition, the authority agreed to pay Out of Sight Shredding of East Butler $102 to destroy old records and documents.
