Independence Health System has invested in some new robotic technology to help orthopedic surgeons at Butler Memorial Hospital.
The hospital has added ROSA Knee Robotic Technology. The system provides orthopedic surgeons with real-time data to help personalize total knee replacement procedures and support surgical accuracy.
The surgeon-controlled, robotic surgical assistant uses a camera and optical trackers, similar to a GPS navigation system, to provide real-time information about a patient's knee anatomy and joint position during surgery while allowing customized treatment based on each patient’s individual anatomy and needs.
