Harry M. "Blackie" Such, 75, of Zelienople died Tuesday at his home.

Born Jan. 7, 1933, in Harmony, he was the son of the late Andrew and the late Sara Stewart Such.

Mr. Such was a member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church and the Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM.

He retired as an operating engineer with Local 66 with more than 50 years of service, and he was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

His greatest joy and interests were working on cars, motorcycles and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna L. Such, whom he married Jan. 6, 1954; four sons, Gregory A. Such (Kimberly Wandel Such) of Wexford, Lawrence M. Such (Christine) of San Clemente, Calif., Steven A. Such (Terri) of McConnells Mill and James R. Such (Lori) of Plain Grove Township; a daughter, Teresa Lynn Such-Neibar (Rex) of Bountiful, Utah; a brother, Wayne Perine of Sterling, Va.; a sister, Evelyn M. Madden of Hagerstown, Md.; four grandchildren, Cody Such, Krystal Such, Alex Neibar, and Morgan Neibar; five step-grandchildren, Anthony, Joel, Noah and Barry Wandel and William Snyder; and also seven step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew Earl Sutch and Richard Perine.

"Blackie" Such, who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N. Pittsburgh St., Zelienople.
