Eleanor M. Hirschy, 86, of Waterville, Maine, formerly of Evans City, died Sunday in Maine.

Born Aug. 23, 1918, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Fred and Adaline Hall Foreman.

She was a member of Burnham Baptist Church in Burnham, Maine.

Mrs. Hirschy and her husband had served as missionaries in the Republic of Chad in Africa for 27 years.

She enjoyed crafts, gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel R. Hirschy, whom she married Sept. 8, 1941; four daughters, Mrs. David (Elaine) Rifenberick of Westminster, Md., Mrs. Dennis (Judy) Reiter of Willimantic, Conn., and Linda and Kathy Hirschy, both of Waterville. Five grandchildren also survive.

A brother and a sister preceded her in death.

HIRSCHY - Friends of Eleanor M. Foreman Hirschy, who died Sunday, July 17, 2005, will be received from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Mackey, pastor of First Baptist Church of Evans City, officiating.
