Butler graduate Ben Gallagher, a senior forward at Albright College, scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 67-51 men's basketball win over Susquehanna Wednesday night.

Albright is 12-5 overall, 6-1 in the Commonwealth Conference and in first place in the league.

Former Portersville Christian player Abby Moose, a senior guard on the Grove City College women's basketball team, scored 15 points and had eight steals in Wednesday night's 73-50 victory at Thiel.Moose is one of eight women players in Grove City history to score 1,000 points.

Grove City College men's basketball coach Steve Lamie earned his 100th coaching victory Wednesday night as the Wolverines defeated Thiel, 65-50.The win came in the 2,000th game in Grove City men's basketball history and was the program's 100th all-time victory against Thiel. The Wolverines (11-7, 4-0) lead the President's Athletic Conference.

Union graduate Mary Jane Eaton, a senior forward on the Westminster College women's basketball team, scored a career-high 25 points and recorded 11 rebounds in a 65-55 loss to Washington & Jefferson Wednesday.

Melanie Buczko, a sophomore on the Bucknell University women's track and field team, was named the East Coast Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week.Buczko, a graduate of Butler High School, won the pole vault at last Saturday's Bucknell Heptagonal with an NCAA provisional qualifying height of 12 feet, 11½ inches.She already had earned Bucknell Bison and Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week honors for her effort.
