Nesbitt defeated Nick Dulac 6-4, 6-2 in the finals after winning in straight sets over Eric Bradley and Cory Runyan earlier in the tournament.

PHILADELPHIA — Jamie Moyer agreed Monday to a $13 million, two-year contract that keeps the 46-year-old left-hander with the World Series champion Phillies.Moyer went 16-7 with a 3.71 ERA in 33 starts last season and pitched six strong innings as the Phillies won Game 3 of the World Series. He is 35-21 with a 4.33 ERA in 74 starts since the Phillies acquired him from Seattle in August 2006. The Souderton, Pa., native has 246 career wins.
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota star defensive tackle Pat Williams will miss anywhere from two to six weeks with a fractured shoulder, leaving the Vikings without their best run stopper with a playoff berth hanging in the balance.Williams was hurt Sunday in a 35-14 rout of Arizona. It's a big blow to a Vikings defense that is second in the NFL against the run. They need only one more victory or a Chicago loss in the final two weeks to capture their first NFC North title.
TAMPA, Fla. — Longtime Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin confirmed he will leave the Buccaneers at the end of this season for a position with his son, Lane, the new coach at Tennessee.Kiffin told reporters after Sunday's 13-10 overtime loss in Atlanta that he made the decision the previous weekend and informed coach Jon Gruden, general manager Bruce Allen and the players last Wednesday.Kiffin is in his 13th season running the Bucs defense, and the unit has ranked among the best in the NFL for most of that tenure.Also, in Alameda, Calif., interim Raiders coach Tom Cable lashed out at assistant offensive line coach James Cregg for leaving with two games left to join ex-Oakland coach Lane Kiffin at Tennessee.
HOUSTON — Double major winner Padraig Harrington was voted player of the year Monday by the Golf Writers Association of America, receiving 75 percent of the vote to end Tiger Woods' three-year run with the award.Lorena Ochoa was the overwhelming choice for female player of the year, and Jay Haas became the first golfer to win senior player of the year three times in a row.
