One person was taken to a hospital following a motorcycle crash Wednesday night, July 22, in Mercer Township.

It appeared the driver of the motorcycle hit a deer, said Cody Ray, the assistant chief of Harrisville Volunteer Fire Company. The crash was reported shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday near 1031 Harmony Road.

The driver was laying in a ditch when emergency crews arrived. He was not wearing a helmet, Ray said.

Crews were on the scene for just over an hour. Superior Ambulance Service took the patient to a hospital.
