The Butler Art Center will be the site of two Valentine’s Day-themed workshops.

Clay date

A Valentine’s Day clay date is being offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Butler Art Center.

The instructor will be River Soma, a ceramic and mixed media artist who has been working in clay for more than 18 years.

Cost is $50 per pair for this ceramics class.

Participants will create a textured wall plaque, keepsake box or free-form plate. At the end of the workshop, the pieces will be glazed and fired, and available for pick-up in the following weeks.

This workshop is open to participants at any level. All materials will be provided.

Paint night

A Jack and Sally Valentine’s paint night will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Cost is $20 per painter.

This is a step by step painting so no experience is needed. Age 5 through adults welcome.

A snack will be served so email education@butlerartcenter.org for any allergies or accommodations.
