Cornetti concert aids Lighthouse
SAXONBURG — Renowned opera singer and Cabot native Marianne Cornetti brings her “Then Sings My Soul: Celebrating 30 Years of An Operatic Career and a Lifetime of Song” benefit concert to Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, at 5 p.m. March 15.
Cornetti, a Knoch High School graduate, has been widely acclaimed as one of the greatest Verdi mezzo-sopranos of her time.
“Then Sings My Soul” is a benefit concert that Cornetti and pianist Bryan Sable will be presenting at several Pennsylvania churches this year in honor of Cornetti’s 30th anniversary of her professional career.
Funds raised from the concert at Saxonburg Memorial will go to benefit The Lighthouse Foundation, a Christian outreach organization meeting the needs of impoverished individuals and families in northern Allegheny and Butler counties since 1985.
