SRU earns Top 20 rank for special ed

Slippery Rock University’s online master’s degree in special education has been ranked as one of the top 20 best programs in the U.S. by Online Course Report for 2020.

OCR helps students “navigate through online programs offered by institutions, providing insight on value and quality through thorough research.”

The rankings were compiled by OCR editors based on criteria including rankings previously awarded by various news outlets, including U.S. News & World Report; salary information from Payscale; hourly tuition costs; and whether the program has regional or CAEP/NCATE accreditation.

SRU is one of two institutions from Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education to make the list. West Chester University is the other.

SRU’s online master’s degree in special education program has four options: birth through eighth grade; grades seven-12; special education supervisor; and special education: autism. Program curriculum is grounded in theory and research supported by a practical, hands-on approach and taught by faculty considered to be leaders in special education in Pennsylvania. The exclusively online program is ideal for working professionals.
