FRANKLIN TWP — The 164th Big Butler Fair opens Friday and runs through July 6at the fairgrounds on Route 422.

The fair features fireworks, a midway, games, demolition derbies, truck pulls and concerts.

Concerts will include The Clarks, The Hobbs Sisters, The Shiners and BlackHawk.

A general admission ticket is $8 and children 6 and younger are admitted free. A ticket for rides is extra.

CRANBERRY TWP — Cranberry Community Days are July 11 to 13 this year and will feature 50 percent more booths.Activities include Martinis with Monet, a 5K Community Chase Race, a Battle of the Barrels, a car cruise, concerts, a carnival, scavenger hunt and pancake breakfast.Proceeds benefit the next Project of the Year, which is the Cranberry Library Innovation.

The Butler County Symphony lunchtime concert Friday will include a wine tasting.Jessica, Claudette & Vincent Sanzotti will perform classical music at noon in the symphony office at 259 S. Main St.Nova Destinations Winery will provide tastings during the concert.The performance will also be broadcast live in Diamond Park.

CRANBERRY TWP — Author Jen Selinsky, whose second children's book was published in March, will have a reading during a storytime on Saturday.Selinsky, a Cranberry Township native, will read both of her books, “Bunny's Song” and “You Are You!” for a story hour at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Barnes and Noble at Cranberry Square Shopping Center.Her first book, “Bunny's Song,” was published in November of 2016. It is available in digital, paperback and hardcover formats. The second, “You Are You!” released in March, is available in paperback and hardcover formats.Following the readings, children will have the opportunity to enjoy coloring handout pages from the books.  Attendees may arrive before the event to meet the author.

PENN TWP — The Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department will have its 19th Mega Cruise beginning at 1 p.m. July 6 at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, 473 Airport Road.In addition to cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors and airplanes on display, there will be music, food, vendors, karaoke and auctions, all followed by a fireworks show at 9:45 p.m.

BUTLER TWP — Sing Hosanna! will conclude its staging of Disney's “Frozen Jr.” at 7:30 p.m. Thursdayat the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.Tickets are $15, not reserved, and available at May's Music Shoppe or at the door.Call 724-287-8362 for more information.Audience members who attend the show dressed as their favorite “Frozen” character can win prizes.

Musical Theatre Guild's production of “Bingo!: The Winning Musical” will open July 12 at the MTG Production Center at the back of Memorial Park.Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. July 12, 13, 19 and 20 and at 3 p.m. July 21.“Bingo” is a new musical comedy about a group of die-hard bingo players who stop at nothing for their weekly game.

NEW WILMINGTON — Westminster College's Strathgheny School of Scottish Fiddling will host two public concerts in July in the Anderson Amphitheater on campus.The Instructors Concert is 8 p.m. July 8 and will feature fiddlers Melinda Crawford Perttu and David Gardner. They will be accompanied by Daniel Perttu on piano.The Strathgheny Fiddlers Concert featuring student participants is 8 p.m. July 12.The concerts bookend a weeklong fiddling camp held at Westminster.Both concerts are free.
