Martinis with Monet set to open on July 10

This giraffe sculpture by Jody Neugebauer is one of the works that will be on display at the Martinis with Monet Art Expo that opens July 10 at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road.

CRANBERRY TWP — Martinis with Monet Art Expo opens July 10 with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road.

This event benefits the Cranberry Township Community Chest and is the signature community art exhibition that is the kickoff to Community Days.

This year’s event will feature an interactive painting experience where attendees paint a 4-inch square to be added to a large mural-style painting of one of Monet’s famous pieces.

Music for the evening will be provided by James and Debra Tobin, and the evening’s snacks will be supplied by John Marshall Catering.

The juror for this year’s event is Kimberly Koller-Jones, executive director/CEO at the Hoyt Center for the Arts in New Castle. Awards will be announced that evening.

Tickets for the reception cost $15 each or two for $25 and include one martini or other alcoholic beverage. Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting the CTCC website at www.ctcchest.org or in person at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center administration office.

The show continues through Aug. 19.
