BUFFALO CHARGE

Fenelton United Methodist Church, 810 Clearfield Road, Fenelton, will host a combined service with Craigsville United Methodist Church and McKee Chapel United Methodist Church, the other Buffalo Charge churches, at 10 a.m. Sunday. There will be no Sunday school for Fenelton United Methodist Church.

Rally Day will be celebrated by the three churches at their regular services Sept. 13. It will include blessings of students, staff, backpacks and items for the school year.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The prayer shawl group of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will meet at 6:30 p.m. today.

Holy Communion will be observed Sunday at both services.

The church office will be closed Labor Day.

The finance committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The food cupboard items for September are spaghetti and spaghetti sauce.

To join the choir for the October and November anniversary services, sign up in the narthex.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

The Tuesday Bible study at Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., scheduled to start Tuesday has been changed to a Monday Bible study that will start Sept. 21.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

Sign-ups are open for the fall life group starting Sunday.

Sunday is the last day to order a Great Commission “Go” T-shirt at the resource center.

Hit the Streets will meet at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 in the YWCA parking lot, 120 W. Cunningham St. For more information, contact Kevin Riordan.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will return to an 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated.

Choir rehearsals will resume today in the sanctuary.

The seekers adult Sunday school class will resume at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the assembly room.

FIRST BAPTIST

Women from First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will attend the Ladies’ Retreat at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock, Friday and Saturday. Call the church at 724-287-7241 for more details.

There will be an 8:30 a.m. breakfast Sunday before the prayer service, Sunday school and morning worship.

The adult crafters’ meeting will be at noon Tuesday at Mac’s Route 8 Café, 16 Pittsburgh Road.

FIRST CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Caravan children’s ministry and ESCAPE youth group will resume at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road.

The Wednesday evening prayer meeting will move back to 7 p.m.

All are welcome to the church’s annual Labor Day wiener roast at 6 p.m. Sunday in the church parking lot. Take a lawn chair, a picnic dish to share and a yard game if you wish. Fire, food and fellowship will be provided. A dessert auction will benefit the teen activity fund.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will serve Communion at both Sunday services.

Rally Day is Sept. 13. There will be games and activities for children and an opportunity to meet Sunday school teachers. Take an ice cream topping to share.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will have a worship and music meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The church office will be closed Monday.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Tabitha, Faith and Emily Snyder and Don and Debbie Horstman will provide the special music at the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at the Sunday worship service at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

Mission co-workers Barry and Shelly Dawson, PC(USA) Southeast Asia liaisons, will speak at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. There will be a light lunch at 12:30 p.m. Friday is the deadline for reservations.

The food request for September is peanut butter or jelly.

The office will close at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

New Life Christian Ministries, 139 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, will celebrate the Lord’s Supper at services this weekend.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Starting Wednesday, Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will have weekly choir gatherings at 7 p.m. Wednesdays for fellowship and song.

Former student pastor Joaquin Anabe Lopez will lead Sunday’s worship service. Weather permitting, the service will be in the outside pavilion.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The September mission offering of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will support our sponsored child, Santhosh, at the Indo-American School for Children. Mark donation checks with “Sponsored Child” or use a mission offering envelope.

The Canticleer Ringers and chancel choir will resume this evening. The handbell choir will rehearse from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. and the choir will rehearse from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.

THE SOWER'S CHAPEL

The Sowers Chapel, 100 Iron Bridge Road, Sarver, will host a fundraising community dinner at 7 p.m. Saturday at Birdsfoot Golf Club, 225 Furnace Run Road, Freeport, following the annual golf scramble. Proceeds will benefit Freeport Meals on Wheels and the Loving Arms Mission in Nepal. For more information, call 724-353-2220.

The Sunday morning service will be at 10 a.m. outdoors on the high hill across the road from the church. Lunch at the church will follow the service.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN of CONNOQUENESSING

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion during the Sunday worship service. Guest lay-pastor Diane Petrack will lead the service.

The September cause of the month is the ELCA Malaria Campaign.

Starting this Sunday, worship will return to 11 a.m. for fall and winter.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

There will be one 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 420 Beaver St., Mars.

The brown bag Bible studies will resume at noon Wednesday.

ST JOHN’S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

Holy Communion will be served at the Sunday service Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

Choir, praise team and musicians practice will resume Wednesday. Musicians will practice at 6 p.m., praise team at 6:30 p.m. and adult choir at 7 p.m.

The church office will be closed Labor Day.

The garden club will have a work session at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 12.

St. John’s Rally Day will be Sept. 13 with the learning theme “Blast Off.”

Donations are being accepted for the annual rummage sale, which will be Sept. 17 to 19.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will have the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service outside on the patio.

Christian Outreach Ministry will lead the 2 p.m. Sunday worship service at Elmcroft, 100 Bella Court, Saxonburg.

The Monday morning discussion group will resume at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 14.

Sr. Stars & 55+ Fellowship will leave the church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for lunch at the Harmony Inn and a tour of historic Harmony.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

The office at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will be closed Labor Day.

The annual corn roast will be at 5 p.m. Monday at the church.

There will be a stewardship/finance ministry meeting a 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The praise band will rehearse at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and the chancel choir will rehearse at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The monthly women’s Bible study will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 10.
