Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will have the Christmas joy offering during the worship service Sunday. The offering will support church workers in need and be used to develop and educate racial and ethnic leadership for the future.
The fourth Advent candle will be lighted during the service.
Following the worship service, there will be a rehearsal for the Covenant choir, the readers and the acolytes for the Christmas Eve service of lessons and carols.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 143 Church St., Prospect, will have a Christmas program during its Sunday worship service.
FIRST BAPTIST
Sunday’s service schedule at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will include Sunday school. The children’s Christmas program will be at 11 a.m., followed by lunch and a 1 p.m. worship service.
The teens’ Christmas party will be at noon Sunday at the Baptist youth center.
There will be no Wednesday prayer service or youth groups.

Sunday services at First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., will start with a prayer meeting followed by the morning worship service.

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have a single worship service Sunday. The congregation will gather in the sanctuary at 9:45 a.m. to elect new council members. Worship will begin at 10 a.m. with the children’s Christmas pageant “Live from Bethlehem.” There will be a pageant celebration following the service.

Gospel Fellowship Presbyterian Church, 161 McFann Road, Valencia, will have a Christmas carol sing led by John Cannon III, organist at the church, at 4 p.m. Sunday. It will include both sacred and secular carols.

Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will participate in “The Longest Night” service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township. Butler Area Lutheran Ministries has organized the service.
Grace volunteers will take Communion to LIFE Butler County at 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

The Sower’s Chapel, 100 Iron Bridge Road, Sarver, will celebrate Christmas Eve from 5 to 6 p.m. Dec. 24. The service will be a pageant, or tableaux, of living pictures. In it, children will bring to life the story of the Lord’s birth.

The December cause of the month is Abiding Ministries of Pittsburgh, which helps the homeless of Pittsburgh.

Members of the 2016 Consistory will be ordained and installed during the morning worship service Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

The Sunday school Christmas program will be during the 10:15 a.m. Sunday worship service. There will be a reception after the service. Holy Communion will not be served during the 10:15 a.m. Sunday service but it will be served at the Saturday service and the 8 a.m. Sunday service.
The sanctuary choir will practice Monday and Wednesday. There will be no children’s hour Wednesday.
