BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have an adult Christmas Party at 7 p.m. Friday. Guests should take finger food to share and a white elephant gift worth no more than $5 for the gift exchange.

Christ Community UNITED METHODIST

The Covenant Presbyterian Church food cupboard work team of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will meet at 8:30 a.m. Monday. The First English Lutheran Church community dinner work team will meet at 4 p.m. Monday.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will have the Christmas joy offering during the worship service Sunday. The offering will support church workers in need and be used to develop and educate racial and ethnic leadership for the future.

The fourth Advent candle will be lighted during the service.

Following the worship service, there will be a rehearsal for the Covenant choir, the readers and the acolytes for the Christmas Eve service of lessons and carols.

EMMANUEL LUTHERAN

Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 143 Church St., Prospect, will have a Christmas program during its Sunday worship service.

FIRST BAPTIST

Sunday’s service schedule at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will include Sunday school. The children’s Christmas program will be at 11 a.m., followed by lunch and a 1 p.m. worship service.

The teens’ Christmas party will be at noon Sunday at the Baptist youth center.

There will be no Wednesday prayer service or youth groups.

FIRST BAPTIST OF EVANS CITY

Sunday services at First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., will start with a prayer meeting followed by the morning worship service.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have a single worship service Sunday. The congregation will gather in the sanctuary at 9:45 a.m. to elect new council members. Worship will begin at 10 a.m. with the children’s Christmas pageant “Live from Bethlehem.” There will be a pageant celebration following the service.

GOSPEL FELLOWSHIP

Gospel Fellowship Presbyterian Church, 161 McFann Road, Valencia, will have a Christmas carol sing led by John Cannon III, organist at the church, at 4 p.m. Sunday. It will include both sacred and secular carols.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will participate in “The Longest Night” service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township. Butler Area Lutheran Ministries has organized the service.

Grace volunteers will take Communion to LIFE Butler County at 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Church members will distribute food at Covenant Food Cupboard Dec. 24. To help, meet at 8:45 a.m. at the church.

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will have its session meeting at 7 p.m. today at the Rev. William Jackson’s home.

The living Nativity will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

At both Sunday services, the lighting of the Advent candle “love” will be celebrated.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, will have Communion Sunday.

There will be a candlelight service with Communion at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve.

THE SOWER'S CHAPEL

The Sower’s Chapel, 100 Iron Bridge Road, Sarver, will celebrate Christmas Eve from 5 to 6 p.m. Dec. 24. The service will be a pageant, or tableaux, of living pictures. In it, children will bring to life the story of the Lord’s birth.

Members of Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, will go Christmas caroling to shut-ins at 3 p.m. Saturday followed by pizza at the church.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will have a Christmas carol hymn sing during the Sunday worship service.

The December cause of the month is Abiding Ministries of Pittsburgh, which helps the homeless of Pittsburgh.

ST. JOHN’S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

Members of the 2016 Consistory will be ordained and installed during the morning worship service Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

The Sunday school children will present a Christmas program and message during the morning worship Sunday. There also will be an offering for the Christmas fund for Veterans of the Cross Sunday.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

The evening sewing ministry of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will meet at 6 p.m. today.

The fourth Sunday in Advent will be celebrated with Holy Communion at the 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday services.

The sanctuary will be decorated at noon Sunday.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

The youths of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will help at Katie’s Kitchen today.

The Sunday school Christmas program will be during the 10:15 a.m. Sunday worship service. There will be a reception after the service. Holy Communion will not be served during the 10:15 a.m. Sunday service but it will be served at the Saturday service and the 8 a.m. Sunday service.

The sanctuary choir will practice Monday and Wednesday. There will be no children’s hour Wednesday.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

Members and friends of Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, are invited to the Christmas program of HIS Kids Christian School, 650 Saxonburg Road, at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The youth group will meet at 5 p.m. Sunday for its Christmas party.

There will be no Tuesday women’s Bible study.
