CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

The Rev. Steve Ogle and the Rev. Mamie Ogle will share information about the 21-day prayer challenge Sunday. There will be no set up Sunday, but tear down and removal of decorations will be after the service.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The 2016 flower chart for Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., is on the assembly room bulletin board.

Copies of “More Presbyterian Questions, More Presbyterian Answers,” by Don McKim are available for the People for Peace Bible study class. The class will begin Jan. 14.

FAITH LUTHERAN

Faith Lutheran Church, 241 Freeport Road, will have a New Year’s Eve service at 7 p.m. today.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have an 8:30 a.m. breakfast Sunday followed by a prayer service, Sunday school and morning worship.

FIRST BAPTIST OF EVANS CITY

First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will have a 10 a.m. prayer meeting Sunday, followed by a worship service.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

There will not be a confirmation class Sunday at Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St.

Church members will serve the community dinner Monday at First English Lutheran Church. To help, arrive at 4 p.m.

Relay For Life will have its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the church.

Ladies’ night out will be at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood Drive.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Joyce Moore, Patty Miller and Michelle Huff will provide special music at the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Executive Presbyter Alan Adams will deliver the message at the Sunday service of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. The Sacrament of the Lord’s Super will be observed.

The church office will be closed Friday.

The food request for January is soda or graham crackers.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Rev. William Jackson will speak at the Sunday services of Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars. Communion will be served at both services.

The women’s Bible study will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the red room. The building and grounds will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Mission and outreach will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

New Life Christian Ministries, 139 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, will have four worship gatherings this weekend. They will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and at 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Church officers of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will be installed Sunday.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, will have a regular service Sunday.

The steering group will meet at 7 p.m. Monday. The council will meet at 8 p.m. Monday.

Choir practice will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, will observe the Epiphany of Our Lord Sunday.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion with the Rev. Gary Brown during the Sunday worship service. The 2016 officers for the church council and cemetery association will be installed.

The January cause of the month is the Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels. Only monetary donations will be accepted.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

All three services this weekend at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will include Communion.

The outreach ministry will lead the 2 p.m. Sunday worship at Elmcroft.

The Monday morning meeting will resume at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The AM sewing ministry will resume at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7.

Youth group for teens in grades 9 to 12 will have a planning session with food, fun and fellowship from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

The office at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will be closed Friday.

Communion will be served at all services this weekend. The confirmation class will resume at 9 a.m. Sunday. The 2016 church council will be installed at the 10:15 a.m. service.

The youths will go skating at 2 p.m. Sunday and return to the church at 6 p.m.

The 3T ladies and Ruth Circle will not meet this week.
