1:21 a.m. Saturday — Mark E. Harned, 41, of Emlenton was charged with writing a bad check worth $50.86 to Chris Gatto, 41, of Butler.1:11 p.m. Friday — Misty Parker, 30, of Butler was charged with simple assault following a domestic dispute with her husband, Thomas W. Parker Sr., 34. Misty Parker allegedly struck her husband in the head with an umbrella while they were on their porch at 322 Virginia Ave. After following her husband in the house, she then kicked him in the groin. Misty Parker was arraigned before District Judge Peter Shaffer and released on a released on her own recognizance, no contact bond.9:45 a.m. Thursday — Richard Darnell Townsend, 29, of Lyndora was charged with retail theft after allegedly attempting to steal a Sony PlayStation 2 from the Kmart store on Hansen Avenue.
8:32 a.m. Thursday — A $1,600 Embarq payphone and pedestal were reported stolen from the upper half of Alameda Park. Anyone with information about the theft should call township police at 724-285-9443.
1 a.m. Friday — Jeremy Hillwig, 24, of Cowansville was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment, and Corrin Hillwig, 27, of Kittanning was charged with simple assault and harassment following a dispute while they were traveling on Route 3017 in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.Thursday — Randy Burke, 28, and Jeffrey Burke, 34, reported an unknown person drove an ATV through their cornfield on Route 4035 in West Franklin Township between 12:01 a.m. Wednesday and 6 p.m. Thursday. Damages are estimated at $400. Anyone with information about the incident should call state police at 724-543-2011.1:48 p.m. Wednesday — A Mack truck driven by John Ballock, 32, of Kittanning struck a van driven by Andrew Lasichak, 52, of Butler that was stopped for construction work on Route 28 in Rayburn Township, Armstrong County. The truck then hit a utility pole as it went over an embankment. The van was carrying oxygen canisters owned by Lincare of Butler. Lasichak received moderate injuries. Ballock received minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. State police were assisted by the Rayburn Township Volunteer Fire Department and Kittanning Ambulance.
