10:23 p.m. Tuesday — Police arrested Edward B. Witcher, 36, of Pittsburgh, who was wanted on an out-of-county warrant. Officers picked up Witcher at College and Cross streets.A police report said the warrant stems from a number of charges in Allegheny County, including aggravated assault, escape and resisting arrest.8:20 p.m. Tuesday — Brian James Vlassich, 27, of Butler is accused of assaulting a Butler Township police officer after being arrested for drunken driving.Vlassich's arrest followed a call from aBessemer and Lake Erie Railroad engineer reporting an abandoned minivan on tracks behind the Home Improvement Center near Negley Avenue.City police, reportedly busy with another call, contacted township officers to help investigate. Vlassich, who owns the van, was found "visibly intoxicated"nearby on Virginia Avenue, a Butler police report said.He told police he had left the van on the tracks because it got stuck there.The suspect was taken to the Butler Township police station for a breath test; however, while there, he became agitated and combative with officers.The police report said Vlassich tried to kick one of the officers. The officers turned to avoid the kick but was hit in the hip.Vlassich is charged with aggravated assault, driving under the influence and trespass by vehicle. He is being held in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail as well as for the warrant.

2:25 p.m. Tuesday — Three youths were injured when their car crashed into a ditch and overturned on Morris Road in Washington Township. Police said driver Kyrstin Hiwiller, 17, of Boyers and passengers Colton Cumberland, 12, of Petrolia, and Emily Hiwiller, 13, of Boyers all suffered minor injuries.
