Today — Gary M. Pale, 47, of Cranberry Township faces a pair of bad check charges for allegedly bouncing checks totaling $370 July 1 and 7 at Friedman's on West Brady Street.Wednesday — Daniel M. Rodgers, 28, is accused of fondling a 10-year-old girl at his North Main Street apartment July 14.Police and the Butler County Children and Youth Services agency investigated the case. Rodgers is charged with indecent assault and corruption of minors.
3:57 p.m. Wednesday — A church parking lot was the venue of a reported fight. When officers got to Trinity Presbyterian Church on Staley Avenue, they saw several teenagers fighting.Police cited William Heckert II, 18, of Butler and a boy, who they did not identify, for disorderly conduct.12:31 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Joanne Stewart, 59, and a van driven by Megan Flannery, 20, of Butler collided on Route 8 South at Burger King. A rescue crew had to cut Stewart from her car, and she was treated for undisclosed injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital.4:23 a.m. Wednesday — Daniel Ward, 33, of Ambridge, Beaver County was arrested for driving under the influence after he lost control of his vehicle at a dead end/turn around area and traveled about 265 feet off New Castle Road.Police said a 7-year-old boy was among the three passengers in Ward's car. In addition to DUI, Ward is charged with child endangerment and driving at an unsafe speed.
4:25 a.m. — A car driven by Nicholas J. Miller, 30, of Butler struck an embankment after sliding off Route 422 in Franklin Township. Miller told police he lost control of the car when he swerved to avoid a deer.5 p.m. Wednesday — Two people were hurt when cars driven by Sandra Koskoski, 60, of Donora, Washington County, and Kristen M. Shamblin, 29, of Harrisville collided on Route 488 at Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.Koskoski and her passenger, Maxene Walsh, 80, of Donora were treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Police said Koskoski was cited for a left turn violation.Monday — About $9,000 worth of all-terrain and utility vehicles were stolen from an unlocked pole building Sunday or Monday in a burglary at a farm on Clouse Lane in Oakland Township.Monday — A would-be burglar smashed a window and pried a door in a failed attempt to break into a garage on Route 356 in Summit Township.
