Thursday — An unknown vehicle overnight sideswiped a fire hydrant at McKean and Brady streets. The hydrant was severely damaged, police said.Wednesday — Cristi L. Reibert, 30, of Butler is accused of felony theft by deception for allegedly writing three checks totaling $2,090 on an account with insufficient funds. Police said she passed the checks to her landlord between July 31 and Sept. 18.
6:55 p.m. Thursday — Christopher Kent Boltz, 27, of Worthington was arrested after police got a call that a man was passed out in the driveway of a Mitchell Hill Road home in Summit Township.Troopers got there and found Boltz walking down the driveway. He was allegedly found with unspecified drugs and drug paraphernalia, a police report said. Authorities also learned he was wanted on a warrant in Allegheny County.Boltz was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant. In addition, police said, he faces drug-related charges.Thursday — An unknown burglar stole jewelry valued at $1,725 from a home in the 200 block of Freeport Road in Summit Township. The break-in happened between Sunday and Thursday.6:50 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Gavin D. Wiefling, 19, of Butler hit an embankment, rolled several times in a front yard and struck two trees before landing against a third tree along Frazier Road near Charlemagne Drive in Jefferson Township.Wiefling, who was wearing a seat belt, refused medical treatment and apparently was not injured. Police said he was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
1:22 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Matthew J. Fenstmaker, 26, of Stoneboro struck a utility pole after sliding off rain-soaked Irishtown Road near Route 439 in Pine Township.
