2:24 a.m. Saturday — Melissa M. Stehlik, 23, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at Chesapeake Street and Whitestown Road. Police also cited Stehlik for a stop sign violation.Noon April 14 — Carl Matuke, 42, of Butler faces drug-related charges stemming from a five-car pileup at New Castle and Barracks roads. Police said Matuke caused the chain-reaction crash when he rear-ended one of the cars.Officers called to investigate the wreck later charged Matuke with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He also was cited for careless driving.
1:30 p.m. Sunday — Vehicles driven by Todd Simmers, 31, of Kennerdell, Venango County, and Samantha Carson, 20, of Powell, Ohio, collided at North and Princeton streets.2:30 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Amanda Taylor, 22, of Warren, Ohio, struck a tree along Woodland Avenue. Taylor told police the crash happened when she swerved to avoid a deer that ran in front of her car. Police cited her for driving at an unsafe speed.
8:30 p.m. Monday — A minivan driven by Glenn Marsch, 48, of Slippery Rock struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.Monday — Two handguns, assorted personal papers and a Roberto Clemente autographed baseball were stolen in a burglary between 11:30 a.m. and noon at a Stevenson Road home in Connoquenessing Township.The unknown burglar, police said, is described as a white male, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a stocky build. Police said the suspect had short black hair and an unshaven face.He possibly was driving a newer, red full-sized pickup truck with dual chrome-tipped exhaust pipes. The vehicle had a loud exhaust.Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Saturday — Someone Friday or Saturday broke into a Bennett Street home in Connoquenessing Township and stole a PlayStation 2 video game system, a Sony home stereo, DVDs, television and a paintball gun.Saturday — Melissa Smith, 35, of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Stone Hollow Road in Winfield Township.
3 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Angela N. Toy, 26, of Templeton crashed into a fire hydrant along Courthouse Road in Rayburn Township. Police said Toy was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.
