Wednesday — Police reported that two Butler women face charges for allegedly stealing the bank debit card owned by the grandmother of one of the suspects and using it to withdraw $400 from the cardholder's bank account.The victim, Robin Cumberland, on June 18 contacted police to report the money had been taken from her account. In addition to the debit card, stolen from Cumberland's South Washington Street home was medicine, compact discs and cash.Cumberland suspected her granddaughter, Danielle F. Carben, 20, and Carben's friend, Nicole L. Kelly, 22.Investigators later learned that Carben was caught using her grandmother's debit card at a North Main Street bank's automated teller machine, according to a police report.Police said both suspect faces charges of access device fraud and theft.

12:14 a.m. Wednesday — Vehicles driven by John Herold, 43, and Niklas Sauers, 18, both of Butler collided at Eberhart and Evans City roads.2 p.m. Tuesday — Victor Shawl, 74, of West Sunbury is accused of shoplifting five items worth $101 from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said Shawl is charged with retail theft.

Friday — Dustin Hilliard, 26, of Grove City was charged with writing a bad check to the borough.State Police ButlerWednesday — Someone fired a paint ball gun at a house in the 1000 block of Prospect Road in Connoquenessing Township. The vandalism happened between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.Tuesday — Nearly $4,500 worth of hand tools were stolen Monday or Tuesday from a construction trailer at a job site on Ethan Hill Road in Middlesex Township.State Police, Clarion7:15 p.m. Wednesday — Scott Johnston, 53, of Rimersburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck struck a sport utility vehicle at Cherry Run and Huey roads in Toby Township. Lonny R. Kriebel, 55, of Parker was driving the SUV.

1:11 a.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Olivia Eperthener, 23, of Grove City rolled over after traveling off Bestwick Road in East Lackawannock Township. Police said Eperthener was cited for a lane violation.June 21 — An unknown burglar broke into a vacant house on Barkeyville Road in Pine Township. A rear door was damaged in the break-in between 2 p.m. June 20 and 11 a.m. June 21.2:53 a.m. June 18 — A pickup truck driven by Jeremiah L. Uber, 27, of Mercer crashed over an embankment and rolled over on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.Uber, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for careless driving, failure to immediately notify police of an accident, driving with a suspended license and unauthorized transfer or use of registration.
