4:38 p.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Derek J. Ruediger, 30, of Tarentum crashed into a tree on Sunset Drive in Center Township. Ruediger suffered a minor injury. He was cited for several traffic violations.7 a.m. July 4 — Someone entered a residence on Elm Street in Slippery Rock, stealing a 32-inch flat-screen TV belonging to Richard A. Schevermann of Slippery Rock between 12:01 a.m. and 7 a.m. July 4.10:52 a.m. July 1 — Shawn M. Smith, 31, of Zelienople and Emily N. Sopel, 26, of Butler each were charged with retail theft after they allegedly stole rings from the jewelry counter of Boscov's in Clearview Mall in Center Township.

11 a.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Souglas L. Iorio, 48, of Kennerdell caught fire along Rankin Chapel Road in Clinto Township, Venango County. No injuries were reported.
