Monday — A would-be burglar caused about $1,800 in damage in a failed bid to break into Butler Fabricating on Kittanning Street sometime over the weekend.The unknown suspect used a metal pipe to smash a large hole in the rear garage door of the business. The same pipe was used to pry on the edge of the door.
Saturday — A resident of the Lowrie House on Stirling Village Drive reported that over the past week an undisclosed amount of money was taken from her room.Wednesday — A 14-year-old Butler boy was caught with unspecified drugs at Butler Intermediate High School. The boy, who police did not identify, faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and tobacco in school.
Monday — A black and blue, 1988 Yamaha Blaster all-terrain vehicle was stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. from a home on Main Hill Road in Fairview Township.Monday — A small, girl's bicycle was found on Chicora Road near the Hilltop Market in Summit Township. The owner can claim the bike by calling police at 724-284-8100.Thursday — A gun and jewelry were stolen in a burglary at a Clark Road home in Concord Township. The break-in happened between 7:45 a.m. and 4:25 p.m. when the unknown burglar kicked in the back door.
12:51 p.m. Monday — A Freeport man and woman were hurt when their car slammed into a tree and traveled 35 feet downhill along Stone House Road near Staab Road in Clarion Township. The driver, Paul Cornman Jr., 18, and passenger Tifany Cornman, 20, both who were wearing seat belts, were taken to Clarion Hospital with unknown injuries. Police said Paul Cornman was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
