Thursday — Police accused Kathleen B. Kelly, 43, of Chicora of passing a bad check for $118.50 to A-Notary on North Main Street on Aug. 23. The check, a police report said, was written on an account that did not have sufficient funds.The report noted that Kelly ignored a Sept. 27 certified letter she received informing her that she had bounced the check. She is charged with bad checks.

Thursday — An unknown burglar stole a small amount of money in a break-in at Advantage Auto Parts on West Main Street. The burglary happened between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 5:50 a.m. Thursday.Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Sara Baccus, 25, of Grove City struck a traffic cone and the back of a parked cement mixer on West Main Street in front of Auto Zone. Police said Baccus faces a ticket for careless driving.11:13 p.m. Oct. 8 — A pickup truck driven by Harold N. Steele, 40, of Mercer and a sport utility vehicle driven by Shane Stiffy, no age given, of Volant collided on South Center Street. Police said Steele was cited for driving without insurance, following too closely to another vehicle and careless driving.

2:40 a.m. Thursday — A minivan driven by Amanda J. Hall, 29, of Grove City struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Worth Township.12:47 p.m. Wednesday — Shane J. Carr, 19, of Boyers punched a 38-year-old Hilliards woman in the face during a domestic dispute on Oneida Valley Road in Venango Township. Police said Carr is charged with simple assault.

1:24 p.m. Wednesday — A truck driven by David B. Shields, 38, of Worthington and a car driven by David H. Wesner, 79, of Rural Valley collided on Route 422 in front of the Cierra Lounge Tavern in Kittanning Township. Police said Shields was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

4:33 p.m. Thursday — An unidentified car struck the back of a sport utility vehicle on Mercer Road just south of Cut Off Street in Perry Township. The unknown driver of the car did not stop after the crash. Lisa Barber, 40, of Grove City was driving the SUV.
