John and Elizabeth Sandals

John and Elizabeth Sandals of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at Shakespeare's Restaurant in Ellwood City.

The former Elizabeth Preston married Sandals on July 7, 1956, at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Pittsburgh.

They have four children, Linda Kilgore of Cranberry Township; Mark Sandals and Lisa Blanchette, both of Fombell; and David Sandals of Butler.

They also have two grandchildren.

Sandals is retired from Herr-Voss in Callery, where he worked as a truck driver. He is a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Mrs. Sandals is retired from the Butler School District, where she worked as an elementary librarian.

The couple belongs to Trinity Presbyterian Church in Butler Township.
