Armstrong

John Armstrong of Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven I Apartments celebrated his 90th birthday recently with a family dinner.

He was born July 11, 1916. He married Verna Mae Snitzer on Aug. 31, 1949.

He has two children, Gary Armstrong of Derry, N.H., and Shirley Geibel of Butler. He also has four grandchildren.

Armstrong retired in 1981 from Phillips Studio in Pittsburgh, where he worked in advertising art. A World War II veteran, he served as a chief radio operator in the Signal Corp.

He is a member of Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh. He enjoys painting.
