George and Florence Horne

George and Florence Horne of Butler celebrated 65 years of marriage recently with a family dinner hosted by their children.

The former Florence Heaton married Horne on Aug. 14, 1941, in Wellsburg, W.Va.

They have four children, Barbara Snider and William Horne, both of Butler; Dr. Thomas Horne of New Windsor, N.Y.; and Jane Murphy of Alliance, Ohio.

They also have 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Horne retired from Armco after more than 40 years of service. He is a member of the Shrine Luncheon Club and the Chisel and Chips Carving Club.

Mrs. Horne is a homemaker. She is involved in the Maqueda Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Cubs Auxiliary.

The couple belongs to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
