Haggart

Mercedes Haggart of Butler will celebrate her 90th birthday Nov. 28. A family celebration is planned in Florida.

The former Mercedes George was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Natrona. She married James Alex Haggart of Freeport March 28, 1935. He is deceased.

She has two daughters, Shirley Haggart, with whom she makes her home in Butler, and Jean Archer of Summerfield, Fla. Another daughter, Dorothy Haggard, died in infancy.

Mrs. Haggart is retired from the laboratory at Butler Memorial Hospital. She served as the first female deacon at Second United Presbyterian Church in Freeport.

Amember of Hill United Presbyterian Church in Butler, she enjoys quilting, reading and gardening.
