Carl and Shirley Flory

Butler residents Carl and Shirley Flory celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at the Mendenhall Inn in Mendenhall.

The former Shirley Dishong married Flory Dec. 21, 1956, at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren in Johnstown.

They have two children, Karen Hoerner of Kennett Square and Cheryl Temple of Butler.

They also have four grandchildren.

Flory is retired from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he worked as a registered nurse.Mrs. Flory is retired from Sears, where she worked as a sales clerk.The couple attends North Main Street Church of God in Butler Township. They also serve as volunteers for Meals on Wheels.
