Zarnick 50th anniversary
P. David and Shirley Zarnick of Renfrew celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with an open house at the Brandywine Village Club House in Renfrew, attended by friends, family and members of the couple's bridal party.
The former Shirley Lorenz married Zarnick Dec. 29, 1956, at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church.
They have two children, Paula Snodgrass of Glenshaw and Joni Zarnick of Prospect. Two children, Dr. Philip Zarnick and René Zarnick Eury, are deceased.
They also have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Zarnick is retired from the City of Butler, where he worked for 30 years, serving as assistant fire chief and fire marshal. He is a former president and board member of the Blue Grass Condo Association in Sunny Isles, Fla., and a former member of the Code of Appeals Board of Butler. Aveteran of the Army, he enjoys fishing and hunting.
Mrs. Zarnick retired after working 26 years at Basilon's Formal Wear. An avid bowler, she is a secretary and 47-year member of the Universe League. She has also been a member of the META, Major, Mr. and Mrs. bowling leagues and is an original member of the Victory Girl league. She enjoys gardening, reading and the beach.The couple belongs to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
