Virginia Bergbigler of Butler celebrated her 85th birthday with family and friends at a mass at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center, followed by a reception at the Garden Gate Restaurant.

The former Virginia Denny was born June 20, 1923, in Butler. She married Charles Bergbigler June 10, 1943, at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church.

She has nine children, Donald Bergbigler and Linda Bohan, both of Fenelton; Paul Bergbigler, Evelyn Bergbigler, Ralph Bergbigler, Steve Bergbigler and Roy Bergbigler, all of Butler; Karen Serafine and Eugene Bergbigler, both of Chicora.

She has 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bergbigler is a homemaker and a retired dairy woman.
