Medical students offered scholarships

The medical staff at Allegheny Health Network’s Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights is offering two $2,500 grants to students studying to become physicians.

Eligible students must be residents of Butler, Allegheny, Armstrong or Westmoreland counties and enrolled in an approved U.S. medical or osteopathic school.

Applicants cannot be prior recipients of an AVH Medical Scholarship Grant.

Applicants must submit a letter explaining why he or she should be awarded the grant and a second letter from their college or university confirming they are a student in good standing. There is no application form.

Winners will be selected by three members of the AVH medical staff based on need or interest.

The scholarships have been offered by the AVH medical staff for 25 years.

Letters may be sent to Allegheny Valley Hospital, Medical Staff Office, Medical Scholarship Grant, 1301 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, PA 15065.
