George Buchanan

George Buchanan of Harrisville recently celebrated his 100th birthday. He was honored Saturday at Harrisville Community Day. He also enjoyed a family picnic Sunday.

Buchanan was born July 1, 1910, in Marion Township. He married Erma Mae Thompson on Jan. 14, 1939, at the Methodist Parsonage in Grove City. She is deceased.

He has four children, Wayne Buchanan of Salem, Ohio, Clifford Buchanan of Harrisville, Lois Bewley of Brunswick, Ohio, and Ronald Buchanan of Harrisville. Another child, Earl Buchanan, is deceased.

He also has 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Buchanan is retired from Harrisville Milling, Cooper Bessemer and Allegheny Mineral.

He is a member of Harrisville United Methodist Church.
