David Robert Barron
David Robert "Bob" Barron, 72, of Barron Road, Slippery Rock, Worth Township, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday at his home.
Born in Harlansburg, Scott Township, Lawrence County, Aug. 10, 1936, he was the son of the late Waldo S. Barron and Julia Boehm Barron.
He was married to Lucille A. Lunn.
Mr. Barron was a self-employed farmer and a retired truck driver. He began driving a truck at the age of 18, working for H.W. Cooper of Slippery Rock, later called Cooper Brothers, now called Sidley. He retired in 1994.
He was a Protestant.
He enjoyed hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Julie Sorenson of Bonita Beach, Fla.; a son and his wife, Dale T. and Marie Lunn of Slippery Rock; a sister and her husband, Frances E. and Calvin Fisher of Portersville; and two brothers and their spouses, John W. "Jack" and Claire Barron of Slippery Rock and Fred J. and Suzanne Barron of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are four grandchildren, David Gray, Nicole and Adam Sorenson and Jenna Lunn; and a number of nieces and nephews.
<B>BARRON </B>— Visitation for David Robert "Bob" Barron, who died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Wolf Creek Cemetery, Worth Township.
