Gordon E. "Jerry" Yagle, 85, of Cranberry Township died Wednesday at UPMC Passavant Cranberry, Cranberry Township.

Born July 11, 1921, in Traverse City, Mich., he was the son of Joseph and Jesse Hammondtree Yagle.

He retired as a lieutenant police officer with the Penn Hills Police Department after 29 years. He was a greeter at the Giant Eagle in Cranberry Township. since 1991.

Mr. Yagle was a World War II Air Force veteran.

He was a member of the International Narcotics Association, the FOP Lodge and a life member of Cranberry Township VFW Post 879.

Surviving are his wife, Anna M. Peternay Yagle; two sons, Joseph and William Yagle, both of Plumville, Indiana County; a sister, Beatrice Manville of Traverse City; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

"Jerry" Yagle, who died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home</B> <B>& Cremation Services,</B> 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
