11:25 a.m. Thursday — Barbara Steiner, 63, of Butler was hurt when a van hit her at North and Jackson streets. Steiner was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Police said John Krom, 58, of Lyndora, who was driving the van, was cited for careless driving.7:55 a.m. Jan. 13 — Six people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at Pillow Street and Hansen Avenue.The crash happened when a pickup driven by Chelsea Campbell, 16, of Chicora and a van driven by Billie Williams, 34, of Butler collided, causing the truck to hit a sport utility vehicle driven by Colleen Swarmer, 37, of Butler.Police said after the collision, the pickup hit a home, owned by John Keffalas, in the 500 block of Pillow Street, and the van struck a guardrail.Campbell and a 17-year-old Petrolia girl in her pickup, and Williams and three children in her van suffered minor injuries. Campbell and the three passengers in the van were treated at Butler Memorial Hospital.Police said Campbell was cited for a red light violation.8:01 a.m. Jan. 5 — Stacey Ann Foringer, 24, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and a controlled substance on Center Avenue. Police said Foringer also was cited for careless driving and an open container violation.
12:40 p.m. Monday — Richard B. Menchyk, 25, of Butler is accused of shoplifting $208 in merchandise at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said Menchyk is charged with retail theft.9:56 p.m. Sunday — Michael Warsing, 43, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup struck a tree along Butler Road. Warsing suffered minor injuries.10:10 p.m. Friday — Jesus Cruz-Ramos, 47, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said Cruz-Ramos is charged with simple assault.Friday — Police filed theft charges against David Kenneth Arnold, 30, of Butler after he allegedly stole a $500 flat-screen television from his mother's home on Snyder Lane in Clearfield Township on Jan. 12.
Friday — Sean Robert Richards, 27, of Harmony faces three felony drug charges for allegedly selling suboxone to a police informant during two controlled drug buys Sept. 24 and 27 in Zelienople.Suboxone is a prescription drug used for treatment of addiction to opiates, including heroin.Richards is charged with two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.
7:50 p.m. Sunday — Heidi Krigar, 20, of Mars was injured when the sport utility vehicle she was driving crashed into a guardrail, became airborne and rolled over, landing on its wheels before colliding with another SUV on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.Krigar, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with unknown injuries. Police said she faces a ticket for a lane violation. Gerald J. Green, 63, of Pittsburgh was the other driver.1:45 a.m. Saturday — Two Armstrong County men face criminal charges for allegedly attacking another man at an East Butler bar.Police charged Jerry John, 50, of Cowansville and Robert W. John, 58, of Adrian with simple assault and public drunkenness after they allegedly assaulted Brian D. Crawford of Fenelton at the Village Inn. Crawford suffered minor facial injuries.Jan. 3 — Justin Jacob Brewer, 22, of Bruin was charged with access device fraud and theft after he allegedly stole an automated teller machine card belonging to Georgia G. Brewer of Bruin, and then withdrew $160 from the account.
Monday — An unknown burglar stole a Kawasaki KX 250 motorcycle from a small shed and a Husqvarna chain saw from a barn at Pony Farm and Chechak roads in North Buffalo Township. The burglary happened between Jan. 4 and Monday. The stolen property is valued at $7,500.Dec. 31 — Jewelry, money, a digital camera and an MP3 player were stolen in a burglary at a Bear Street home in Worthington.
