Bessie Louise Heasley

Bessie Louise Heasley, 80, of East Butler died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at her home.

Born June 1, 1924, in Fenelton, she was the daughter of Charles and Bessie Morrow Blatt.

She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers, having lost a son during the Vietnam War. She enjoyed quilting and made quilts for her entire family. She also enjoyed reading and sewing.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bradley (Elizabeth "Sue") Angert and Norma J. Heasley, both of Butler, and Donna Heasley of Dallas, Texas; three sons, James D. Heasley of West Virginia and David E. and Donald E. Heasley, both of Dallas; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Gerald (Elizabeth) Morrow of Prospect; a brother, George W. Blatt of Chicora; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ferdinand Heasley, who died Feb. 5, 1998; an infant son; a son; a grandson, and three brothers.

HEASLEY - Friends of Bessie Louise Heasley, who died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME , 127 W. Jefferson St. A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Herman.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
