5 a.m. Saturday — Eugenio Garcia-Velasco, 38, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after his minivan collided with a pickup truck at East Cunningham and South McKean streets. Police said Garcia-Velasco also was cited for a red light violation and driving without a license. Dalton Kradel, 17, of Butler Township was driving the pickup.3:25 a.m. Saturday — Clinton E. Blatt, 26, of Butler is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home on Second Street. Police said while in the home, Blatt allegedly got into an argument with the woman and assaulted a man there.Officers later arrested Blatt at his home but not, police said, without a struggle. He was arraigned on charges of burglary, trespass, resisting arrest and simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.
7:30 p.m. Saturday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Bret A. Cox, 26, of New Wilmington crashed into a ditch and cement culvert after sliding off snow-covered Interstate 79 in Springfield Township.4:12 p.m. Thursday — Cars driven by Diana Riddle, 59, of Jackson Center and Timothy A. Perry, 54, of Grove City collided at Route 58 and Irishtown Road in Pine Township. The collision sent Perry's car into the Grove City Mall parking lot, where it hit two parked cars.Police said Riddle, who was treated at Grove City Medical Center for minor injuries, was cited for a stop sign violation.7:45 p.m. Dec. 2 — Kaitlin M. Smith, 19, of Grove City swerved her car but was unable to avoid hitting a dead deer on Route 208 in Pine Township. Smith lost control of the car, which traveled off the road and rolled onto its roof. She was treated at Grove City Medical Center for minor injuries.
Sunday — An unknown thief between midnight and 9:30 a.m. stole an all-terrain vehicle from an Old Countyline Road home in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The culprit apparently took the ATV for a joy ride before abandoning it in the yard of the owner's neighbor.
