Joseph H. Raith, 87, of Sarver died Friday at the Saxony Health Center.

He was born Aug. 17, 1921, in Butler to Frank and Anna Raith.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He retired in 1983 from Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge as a rolling mill operator.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Church in Cabot.

Surviving are his wife, Esther (Sasse) Raith; three sons, Joseph K. Raith of Sarver, Dean Raith of Butler and Gerald Raith of Saxonburg; and two grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a granddaughter.
