Ralph L. Bruner, 84, formerly of West Sunbury, died Monday at the Trinity Living Center, Grove City.

Born Sept. 18, 1923, in Brookville, he was a son of William C. and Mary Smail Bruner.

A graduate of Brookville High School, he served in the Army Air Corps and retired in 1954 from the Air Force Reserves.

He had been a plumbing and heating contractor and then opened a hobby shop. He built his own airplane and enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, hunting and fishing.

He belonged to St. John's United Methodist Church, the Butler Masons, the Butler Aircraft Modelers Society and the Experimental Aircraft Association.

Surviving are his children, Paul E. Bruner of Newington, Ga., Michael D. Bruner and Mrs. Carl (Rosemary) Simpson of West Sunbury; a stepsister, Ruth Jefferies of Brookville; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Blake Bruner; three brothers; a sister; a stepbrother; four stepsisters; and a grandchild.

<B>BRUNER </B>— Services for Ralph L. Bruner, who died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St John's United Methodist Church, Hallston Road, Slippery Rock. Burial will be at the Brookville Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church.
