About 150 fourth and fifth grade students at Moraine Elementary School showed their appreciation for law enforcement personnel Wednesday as part of a community project. Students released white balloons to honor officers who’ve died in the line of duty and blue balloons to honor those currently serving. More than 20 police officers visited the school. Fourth grade teacher Barb Putorti organized the first-time event in the Slippery Rock School District.
