PennDOT to start reconstruction project on Freeport Road
The state Department of Transportation has announced a replacement project for the box culvert underneath the Freeport Road bridge in Summit Township, which takes motorists over the Coal Run tributary.
This multi-phase project is scheduled to begin Monday, May 13, and will be handled by Allison Park Contractors. Traffic will be reduced to one lane while road reconstruction and resurfacing is underway.
The project is expected to finish in December 2024 and cost $1.9 million.
