Freeport's Livingston flirts with perfection
NORTH VERSAILLES — Freeport's Mark Livingston won the Western PA Regional High School Bowling Championship Friday in spectacular fashion.
Livingston bowled a 299 in the championship game at the North Versalles Bowling Centre, beating Dylan Scheidler of North Allegheny. Scheidler rolled a 193.
Livingston's five-game series was 1,084 while Scheidler rolled a 1,093. They are two of eight bowlers who advance to next week's state singles championship.
There were 76 bowlers competing for those eight spots.
None of Butler's three bowlers advanced, though they did well. The Golden Tornado's Eric Devore was 16th, averaging 205 for his five games.
Rocco Rice was 32nd, averaging 182. Alex Ekas was 63rd.
The boys regional team championships are Saturday at North Versailles.
The Western PA girls regional singles are Friday. The girls team event is March 13.
