Slippery Rock Township to fix faulty drainage system
SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — The township voted to foot the $4,600 bill to repair a faulty drainage system on North Creek Road which is spilling wastewater onto residents’ lawns.
The faulty system is along a stretch of the road that was vacated by the township in 2017. North Creek Road is roughly parallel to Wolf Creek in Slippery Rock.
“It’s along an abandoned township road, but we’re still responsible for the drainage,” township supervisor Paul Dickey said.
According to Dickey, the system started failing during the fall of 2023 and began spilling water onto the property of at least one resident. While the township hoped recent rains would have unclogged the system, that has not happened.
