Betty J. Alexander, 80, of Zelienople died Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.

Born July 9, 1928, in Springfield, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Lela Ritz Blissett.

Mrs. Alexander was a very active member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, where she had served as an elder, a deacon and was a Sunday school teacher for 45 years. She also belonged to the church's Women's Association, the Christian Education Committee, sang in the choir, volunteered at the church office and served as coordinator of Kitchen Services. Mrs. Alexander also was a member of the Portersville Keenagers.

She is survived by two daughters, Becky Williams (Tom) of Fombell and Brenda Alexander (Dan) of Ellwood City; a son, R.D. Alexander (Diane) of Cranberry Township; three brothers, Edward Blissett (Betty), Gerald Blissett (Connie) and Gene Blissett (Diane); a sister, Dolores Peel (Rick), all of the Springfield, Ill., area; six grandchildren, Michael Williams (Janine), Kellie Persofsky (Noah), Janelle Horn, Daniel Alexander, Angie Armstrong and Zachary Rava; and four great-grandchildren, Alexander and Adam Williams and Sophia and Evan Persofsky. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross D. Alexander, who died Aug. 28, 1996, and two brothers, Dick and Donald Blissett.

<B>ALEXANDER </B>— Friends of Betty J. Alexander, who died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 415 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. N. Graham Standish, her church pastor, officiating. Friends should meet at the church. Interment will be at St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery, Zelienople.Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Suite 320, Wexford, PA 15090; or Calvin Presbyterian Church, 415 E.
