Associated Artists of Butler County at the Art Center, 344 S. Main St., is hosting the 74th annual Spring Show through May 30. Exhibited in the Members Gallery is "Nature's Palette" by Mary Kostolansky, and in the Mezzanine Gallery, "The Power of Place: Americans on Vacation" by Christine Holtz. A call for artists for a "Futuristic Art" exhibit continues through May 30, with the show running from June 13 to July 11. Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., features a new display of 19 Japanese samurai dolls. The museum displays hundreds of pieces of ancient and contemporary Asian art as well as Meissen porcelain. Regular museum hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays; closed Mondays and holidays. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students, and free for children younger than age 8; children must be accompanied by an adult. Waterworks 2008, the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society annual member show, is on display through May 31 at the 3rd Street Gallery, 220 Third St. in the Carnegie section of Pittsburgh. The show is coordinated by Maria Kovalenko Leysens of Adams Township, who also has the painting "To Remember" in the show. Her watercolor won an honorable mention.
