Thelma McCabe

Thelma M. Young McCabe, 84, of 7009 Oakdale Ave., Canoga Park, Calif., formerly of Riverview, Ellwood City, died Oct. 17 in the Encino-Tarzana Medical Center in California.

Born Aug. 4, 1922, in Evans City, she was the daughter of Earl Henry and Mary Hicks Young.

While living in Evans City, she belonged to St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church in Zelienople.

She is survived by two sons, William J. of Reseda, Calif. and David of Simi Valley of Calif; three daughters, Barbara Bauer of North Hills, Calif., Susan Knie of Van Nuys, Calif., and Mary McCabe of Reseda, Calif.; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Henry Young of Ellwood City; and two sisters, Jean Ripper and Janet W. Peters, both of Zelienople.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Joseph W. McCabe, who died June 19, 1987, and by a sister.

<B>MCCABE</B> — Friends of Thelma M. Young McCabe, who died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the <B>Turner Funeral Home</B>, Sixth Street at Park Avenue in Ellwood City.A blessing service will be conducted at noon Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Miller of St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church officiating.Burial will be in St. Gregory Church Cemetery.Information available at www.turnerfh.com.
